Ceramic Hobs, Kylie Minoise, The Radiation Line & Eternal fags @ 13th Note

CERAMIC HOBS - Blackpool's proper psyche-punk legends are coming up to Scotland for the first time in many years. It's our pleasure to be putting them on for what's certainly going to be an unforgetable show. 22 releases by such labels as Harbinger Sound, Pumf records, Smith Reasearch and Monopolka in just 25 years of chasing the mentalist Dreamweapon through intergalactic wormholes, their seven-piece sound is Gonzo in it's purest form. Need reference points? Early Butthole surfers, The Fall and Captain Beefheart wi northern accents and nudity.

Kylie Minoise -TotalNoise Destruction Isolation Tank freak-out Aktions from the main brain of Kovorox Sound. Minimalist Maximum self-disembowelment for yr ears heart n brain. Be very afraid.

The Radiation Line - Cosmic DRONE rock in the vein of iii'rd Gatekeeper era Skullflower and Hex era Earth. OR dreamy ambient soundscapes with smatterings of Wickerman soundtrack/Pentangle folk slowed waaaay down. OR Ramleh/Whitehouse ear-rape white noise womb-massage. Ye never quite know what yr getting with this weirdo Beardo Stirling Duo. With 6 Ep's, forthcoming releases from Turgid Animal, Kovorox Sound and Infinite exchange, be sure to wear a nappy.

Eternal Fags - Winning Sperm party and ex-household and Plaaydoh folk assualt you with truly exciting snotty nae-wave punk happenings. Like the cuntish shagging of Mclusky and Fugazi at their post-hardcore best, MARS and DNA, this is top-drawer shouty angular horrible and dirty punk with humour and Heart. Dig.

Starts at 8:30 sharp, cost is 4 pounds.

Quack Quack + Sexy Entourage @ Mitchell's (formerly The Ivy Bar)

The mighty QUACK QUACK return to Glasgow in support of their long awaited album on Cuckundoo Records!

If you are unfamiliar with Quack Quack's music, they make a transcending aural canvas thats filled to the brim with melody and rhythm. Think the poly-rhythmic, celebratory swing of Fela Kuti: the hypnotic density of Neu! and the wild melody of Herbie Hancock. Quack Quack are often likened to Can, but - as any fan of the band will know - they exist in their own musical world:

"It's all too temptingly simplistic to compare Quack Quack to the likes of Can, and not solely for the fact that all three members have contributed to Damo Suzuki's Network. Both bands build around uncompromising, driving rhythms, exact their subtle-yet-arresting dynamics with calm fluid restraint, are comprised of individually talented musicians who subsist collectively within a unique and uncategorizeable sound, and who each recognize the recording environment as an instrument in itself. But even so, Quack Quack sound nothing like Can whatsoever. Or anyone, in fact."

Support comes from SEXY ENTOURAGE. Wild, freeform - but best of all, LOUD - Sexy Entourage are a guitar/drum two-piece that make heady music not far away from that of Hella. Don't be intimidated, however, as the duo play with all the loose, joyful, dude-rock energy you could ever dream of. Features members of Moon Unit and Teenage Ricky.

--------------------

Entry is a mere 3 POUNDS.

Helen's glorious cake shop will be open and Cry Parrot will be spinning tunes through the evening.
